PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES
Within the Global Business Operations (GBO) Board area, the Enterprise Data Management (EDM) team manages every aspect of data management and the corresponding processes for all critical enterprise data at SAP. The charter of the Data Strategy & Innovation team comprises both defining and executing SAP’s enterprise data strategy and innovation agenda as well as driving constant improvement of operational efficiency.
The EDM vision is to simplify the data experience for everyone at SAP and help SAP achieve its digital transformation goals towards the intelligent enterprise.
EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS
You support the EDM team in developing and executing strategic initiatives to improve the utilization of data as a critical asset for success within SAP. You understand both the business and technology aspects of data management issues and provide input for key data initiatives. In this role you need to jointly work with the IT, Analytics, Process, Development and other LoB teams to effectively improve the quality of corporate data to enable SAP to run simple.
There is a variety of areas you would support the EDM team such as preparing presentations, researching trending business and technology topics (e.g., Machine Learning, AI, and Blockchain), supporting workshops, and documenting use cases. You would be free to employ your creativity and innovative ideas and contribute to discussions within the team.
Your eagerness to learn would be utmost appreciated. You will be provided with the opportunity to explore different applications of your skills and knowledge. Meanwhile you will be given the platform for discovering new angles of the business and providing assistance for internal projects.
Also you will work together with and learn from individual team members with a broad range of academic and professional backgrounds. The learning opportunities fall into the following areas:
Learn about SAP’s digital transformation and the importance of best-in-class enterprise data management processes and tools
Learn early about new innovative data solutions and data-driven business models
Learn how to innovate data management and business models without disrupting running business
A full-time intern is preferred; however, the position could be filled on a working student basis too.
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS/ SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
Currently enrolled Master Student (f/m) of a university or university of applied sciences
Advanced and above-average studies in Data Science or Business Informatics; knowledge/ experience in Innovation/ Business Administration is a plus
First experience in data science or data engineering projects and an on digitization and big data
Proficiency with Microsoft Office products
Excellent English language skills; proficiency in German is advantageous
Ability to work in an independent and disciplined manner, and strictly meet deadlines
Reliable and trustworthy
