The Tools team within the P&I – Operations organization is an internal software development team responsible for defining, designing and implementing the applications that support developers, product owners and the entire product development organization in their daily work.

PPMS (Product and Production Management System) is SAP’s application for software product master data management. PPMS is used to manage SAP’s software products, software components and how they relate to each other. Many processes such as the SAP corporate requirements processes for ECCN and licensing of Open Source and Third Party Software as well as more than 100.000 unique users worldwide and more than 100 applications at SAP or at SAP customers consume PPMS information (e.g. ECCN Manager, SAP Software Download Center, Product Availability Matrix, Maintenance Planner). The PPMS Consulting Team is the central contact for the worldwide SAP-internal PPMS community.


This job offers the opportunity to learn about SAP’s Software Product Portfolio, SAP's Release & Maintenance Strategy, Delivery Architecture, Software Architecture and Software Delivery. You will get insight into principles and rules how SAP plans, structures, produces, releases and delivers new software product versions. You will support the PPMS Consulting Team in daily tasks and contribute to different topics or projects with the goal to safeguard high PPMS data quality and internal and external processes.

In this role, your tasks include

  • Taking over responsibility for regular PPMS data quality activities and information services

  • Doing ad-hoc special data analyses and reporting

  • Helping to optimize PPMS data quality and completeness

  • Supporting the PPMS Consulting Team in daily tasks

  • Bring new and fresh ideas into the team


  • Student at a university or university of applied sciences

  • Preferred field of study: (Business) Information Technology, Business Informatics, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration

  • Very good knowledge in MS Office – mainly MS Excel

  • Fluent English (and nice-to-have German) in oral and written form

  • Soft skills: Fast learning, independent and goal-oriented working style, team-player
