The SAP Design Team is an interdisciplinary team of Designers, Architects, Developers and Product Owners that work closely with partners, customers and internal development organizations to provide tools & technologies enabling SAP, partners and customers to build innovative and delightful solutions at scale. We create and implement new design concepts, deliver UX innovations and drive the evolution and adoption of the Fiori Design Language across SAP products. The UX and Fiori product management team is key in supporting new UX innovations (SAP Fiori 2.0 & 3.0, SAP CoPilot, E-Quill, BUILD, SAP Screen Personas, Fiori elements). Within this organization the SAP Design UX Research & Enablement EMEA/APJ team is – among other responsibilities – driving the user research activities in design/development projects. We typically work in a multi-disciplinary team setup (consisting of designer, product owner, and developer) and conduct interviews, observational studies, design thinking workshops, and validations of prototypes with real end users to ensure that the user’s voice is known and heard in our projects. We help the team to translate user’s needs, tasks, pain points and requirements into design. The basis for what we are doing follows design thinking and user-centered design principles.


As part of the SAP Design UX Research & Enablement EMEA/APJ team, you will be working in a fast-paced environment, communicating and collaborating with customers and partners, software engineers, user experience designers, user researchers, product managers, and developers.

Your tasks may include:

  • Planning user research activities, including selecting the appropriate research method

  • Designing and executing user research activities, including field studies with customers and end users

  • Analyzing and synthesizing findings together with a cross-functional team, including documentation and presentation of results to stakeholders

  • Preparing and conducting design validation activities such as use case validations or design walkthroughs and report findings to stakeholders

  • Support preparing and conducting design thinking workshops with internal and external stakeholders and customers

  • Preparing and conducting formative and summative usability studies with customers and end users, including communication of results to product teams and stakeholders

  • Communicating effectively within UX- and product management / development community

  • Pro-actively support internal and external design and user research communities


Required skills

  • The candidate must have a graduate / post-graduate degree (Bachelor, Master, Diploma or PhD) from a university or university of applied science related to Sociology, Psychology, Human Computer Interaction, or a related field

  • Strong behavioral data-collection and analytical skills

  • Proven track record of applying user research in projects including end user interviewing

  • Understanding and knowledge of user-centered design methods

  • Fluency in German and English

Preferred skills

  • Understanding of business processes in the enterprise world

  • Very good presentation skills

  • Ability to communicate precisely and skillfully with internal and external parties

  • Advanced understanding of Design Thinking methodologies


  • Preferably minimum of 2 years working experience in applying user-centered design and/or design thinking methods in small and medium projects and adjusting them accordingly to the project’s need

  • Graduates with first practical experiences are welcome to apply as well

  • Experience with user experience design and specification for enterprise software is a plus
