PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES

SAP Health is a global development organization within the New Ventures & Technologies group, with employees in Europe, India, Singapore, China, Australia and North America. The organization focuses on providing industry-specific solutions to healthcare providers, such as hospitals and clinics. The product portfolio consists of the classic industry solution IS-H, which serves over 1500 healthcare customers, the Connected Health Platform, that combines and consolidates clinical data from diverse sources, and several applications for analytics & insights.

We are looking for an experienced developer to help improve our platform for modern healthcare standards and requirements.

EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS

As part of our Walldorf development team, you will work with senior and junior colleagues within a small team of developers dedicated to building the new data core of our platform. You will help implementing new services based on SAP and external technologies to support new healthcare standards, flexibility and scalability on an XSA/SCP based stack. Furthermore, you will mentor junior colleagues in best-practices for enterprise software development and help them grow as developers.

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

  • University degree: Computer science or related field

  • Programming skills: Java (mandatory), Python (mandatory), JavaScript (favorable)

  • Database skills: SAP HANA (mandatory), NoSQL/Document-store (favorable)

  • Language skills: English and German (mandatory)

  • Soft skills: Self-learning, good communication skills, experience in mentoring students or early talents

  • Others: Interest in Healthcare

WORK EXPERIENCE

We expect seasoned programming experience in Java (fully proficient, 4 years), Python and optionally JavaScript as well as a good understanding of relational databases, especially SAP HANA, and optionally NoSQL databases. You should have worked with agile software engineering practices and be proficient in developing enterprise-grade code. Exposure to healthcare data and standards is favorable but not required.
