PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES

Within the Products & Innovation (P & I) board area, SAP Global Security (SGS) has been established under the leadership of SAP’s Chief Security Officer.

SGS’ structure consists of the units Physical Security, Secure Operations, Secure Development, Incident Response / Cyber Security, Program Management & Communication.

The Physical Security unit which is set up in regional teams is globally responsible for safeguarding SAP premises thus protecting people as well as tangible and non-tangible assets against potential infringement.

The main task is to anticipate threats and protect SAP and its subsidiaries from security breaches such as burglary, theft, sabotage, vandalism, as well as threats by attacks and industrial espionage.

This includes establishment & alignment of consistent physical security strategies, implementing best practices and processes as well as implementation of security concepts, policies and standards.

The successful candidate is also required to maintain good relationships with all business partners and executives and act as a central coordinator for security projects with internal and external stakeholders. He / she will provide regional physical security service and support across Germany in a regional team.

EXPECTATIONS, TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Manage all aspects of physical security such as:

  • Provide site analyses and inspections by working closely with local GRF and other relevant stakeholders

  • Ensure internal compliance and alignment with local needs and side conditions

  • Point of Contact for all physical security relevant issues within the responsible area and acting as a SAP security service ambassador

  • Develop and deliver security training and awareness programs

  • Research and analyze security systems as to their suitability for SAP’s use

  • Represent Physical Security in project management teams for new buildings and renewal of buildings

  • Develop and maintain project budgets and forecasts

  • Ownership of global service delivery for physical security services

  • Provide professional advice to internal and external parties

  • Streamline global processes to identify and manage security gaps, to plan and execute new building projects, develop possible solutions and monitor/report status regularly

  • Ensure proper management of security incidents

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

Required

  • Excellent knowledge of Physical Security and Security Management -Principles, standards and other regulations, technologies and industry trends

  • Fluent written and spoken German and English skills

  • Intercultural sensitivity and communication

  • Project Management

  • Focus on Quality and Results

  • Good knowledge of security systems

Preferred

  • Bachelor degree preferred and/or adequate experience.

  • Physical Security Professional certification would be an asset.

  • Knowledge of physical safeguarding measures of assets (people, buildings, equip, etc.)

  • Technical engineering knowledge, ability to review drawings/diagrams (electrical/construction)

  • Understanding of security hardware/software component design/integration

  • Working in virtual teams

  • Risk Assessment / Management principles and tools

WORK EXPERIENCE

At least 3 years of functional experience relevant to physical security.

Technical background of electronical security systems eg. access control, intrusion detection, CCTV.
