PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES

The Industry Cloud team is a dedicated group with the mission to create innovative and breakthrough software for high value, strategic customers in the areas of Discrete Industries, Energy & Resources, Sports & Entertainment, Financial Services, Public Services, and Services Industries. To achieve this, we collaborate closely with customers and drive key topics with other internal SAP groups.

The mission of ICD Discrete Industry team is to protect and grow SAP’s core business in Discrete Industries and evolve this business into the cloud. This will be achieved by delivering the next generation business applications in S/4 HANA Cloud and on the SAP Cloud Platform. Many customers are already following this strategy and adopting our cloud products. This uptake fundamentally demands an even increased focus on delivery against the strategy.

The product owner for “Automotive Cloud” will be tasked with driving the next generation automotive supplier solution in the cloud. The product owner needs to understand key automotive manufacturing and logistics processes such as repetitive manufacturing, handling unit management, packaging logistics, JIT/JIS and all core process which typical automotive suppliers and OEMs are performing. The target is to expand our existing automotive supplier and OEM portfolio in the cloud and significantly expand the adoption of our solutions in this industry segment.

EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS

As product owner for “Automotive Cloud” your initial task will be to define and deliver the next generation automotive solution in collaboration with other interdisciplinary teams from different organizations. The key tasks include:

  • Define the detailed software requirements of specific automotive supplier and OEM functionalities in the cloud.

  • Identify software integration requirements between SAP solutions, cloud and on premise

  • Drive software development and delivery of the defined E2E scenarios

  • Align with internal stakeholders (AIS, development lines of business, etc.)

  • Work with SAP strategic partners in co-innovation and co-development programs

  • Drive the roll in of customer requirements and identify high value areas

  • Lead the customer roll in process and research including requirements analysis and create business cases for selective items.

  • Co-Innovate and interact with customers, user group & partners

  • Position and roll out innovations to customers & partners and help enable the internal SAP ecosystem

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

Required skills

  • Very strong subject matter expertise in the automotive industry

  • Attention to detail and quality

  • Experience in managing large-scale projects inclusive stakeholder management

  • Practical experience in software development and lean methodologies.

  • Strong communications skills

  • Established SAP business network

  • Experienced professional with an academic and or professional background in computer science, engineering or equivalent

  • Excellent in written and oral communication in English and German.

Preferred skills

  • Additional to the development direction a business mindset and an understanding of customer value drivers and customer priorities in the new Discrete Industries world (automation, internet of things, 3D printing)

  • Strategic thinking combined with execution and delivery

  • Cloud development experience is a plus

WORK EXPERIENCE

  • 5- 10 years professional work experience in automotive or discrete industries

  • 5 years of professional experience in leading development and / or project teams and proven track record in product management, development, consulting, solution management or similar function

  • Proven success in co-innovation and customer projects
