With ambition, we are driving the definition of the IoT reuse portfolio, and take the responsibility to develop, operate and commercialize the reuse services, also known as IoT Application Enablement. Together we will shape new business models for SAP, evolve, define and communicate our strategy with and to our customers and define technical requirements for a new cloud-based IoT platform, operated by SAP and by our customers.

Our diverse team of highly experienced and engaged colleagues is looking for an experienced Development Expert / Development Architect who wants to take the challenge and become a frontrunner in a new emerging business area.

Together with the team you will build and deliver for the IoT cloud platform and enable our customers, partners and SAP development to deliver cloud services and end-to-end business processes. You will work on the architecture definition and design, develop and deliver IoT Application services. Towards our customers and partners, you will act as trusted advisor and work closely with them and support them with designing and building cloud solutions and drive adoption of the IoT applications services.

EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS

As a Development Expert / Development Architect you will be part of a co-located and cross-functional scrum team. You will be working in a fast-paced and agile environment where prototypes become products, and product increments are shipped in very short cycles.

You will:

  • Actively participate in the scrum process of the team and apply ASE methodologies

  • Take on the responsibility for concept, design, implementation, testing and maintenance according to the development phase and prioritization of backlog and be accountable for the delivery of the assigned tasks on time and with high quality

  • Take on the responsibility of driving and supporting DevOps

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

Required skills

  • Good Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field

  • 3 years or more experience in Agile Software Engineering

  • Demonstrated technical thought leadership to think out of box and the strong motivation to make differences

  • Excellent proven Java programming skills and deep knowledge in Java frameworks (e.g. JPA, Hibernate, Java Spring) and infrastructure

  • Strong and motivated team player, able to work goal-oriented, self-sufficient, and reliable manner

  • Strong analytical mindset paired with high quality awareness

  • Able to quickly understand and learn

Preferred skills

  • Experiences and Skills in the area of Big Data and Big Data technologies, such as Kafka, Cassandra, Spark

  • Experience with Hana Cloud Platform and Cloud Foundry components

  • Open to innovative ideas and technologies

  • Fluency in German language and very good English skills - verbal and written

  • High service attitude and customer orientation

  • Capable of working across disciplines and cultures

WORK EXPERIENCE

  • 8 to 10 years in Software Development

  • Several years of experience in Java development, preferably at SAP
