PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES
The SAP New Ventures & Technologies is a strategic innovation entity within SAP, combining software engineering excellence with thought leadership and entrepreneurial spirit. Across various focus clusters and by building on strong teams, we pioneer game-changing solutions in close collaboration with startups, customers & partners in industry and research as well as with other SAP units. By exploring unconventional ideas and developing inspiring proofs of concept, we push the state of the art in computer science and its applied fields to provide SAP with foresight into future trends.
By unlocking knowledge from structured and unstructured data, the SAP Machine Learning Foundation is infusing enterprise applications with intelligent, easy-to-use services and APIs based on machine learning.
With this goal in mind, the Sap Leonardo Machine Learning Foundation team is currently looking for an (Associate) User Interface Developer to strengthen its development team.
EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS
We are looking for a candidate with a strong focus on quality aspects in software development (e.g. accessibility, performance, automation and security). Not only would you be responsible for the quality of your source code, but you are expected to ensure the robustness and reliability of your works through automated test coverage and code reviews.
Also, you will have to comply to our continuous integration process (Git) and work with cross-functional, remote development teams following the Agile methodology.
Finally, you are expected to demonstrate a proactive attitude and the willingness to continually enhance your existing skills and seek new areas for personal development.
Your tasks will have you:
Working closely with front-end architects, UX experts and remote, cross-functional teams.
Applying the Agile methodology to contribute to the achievement of the team’s goals.
Participating to design workshops and building rapid prototypes when required.
Complying to the visual instructions provided by the UX experts to ensure the final validation of your work.
Implementing UIs based on the latest Fiori features and updates.
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
Solid experience in HTML5 and CSS.
Excellent programming skills in JS (ES6, Fiori; NodeJS and D3 a plus).
Experience with building SSA using a framework is a plus (Angular, React or other)
Hands on experience with Cloud Foundry, SAP Cloud Platform and SAP Web IDE.
Experience with common testing frameworks.
Experience with continuous integration concepts and tools.
Understanding of advanced software design patterns.
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS
Academic degree in computer science or related discipline.
Fluent in English (both spoken and written), German language ability is an advantage.
0-4 years experience in UI development.
