PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES

The growing interconnection of machines, devices and business processes through the Internet is offering a significant growth opportunity for SAP as market leader of enterprise software. The SAP Cloud Platform is the technological foundation to seize this opportunity. The SAP CP Performance & Application Performance Monitoring (APM) team contributes Performance Consulting with sophisticated Monitoring technology to our SAP Cloud Platform portfolio to support our customers SAP solutions to develop, run and operate high performant, top-notch cloud services.

As a member of our team, consulting, implementing and overseeing high performant application in SAP Cloud Platform will be key for you. In addition, you will accompany the complete lifecycle of the Dynatrace Managed deployments in SAP Cloud Platform.

Monitoring technology is the more useful the more it is integrated and pervasive. Part of your tasks will be to devise, design and drive innovative integrations of Dynatrace technologies with other services and products available in SAP Cloud Platform. Additionally, you may help to consult people on how to apply Dynatrace technology to provide scalable and high performant services.

As junior developer in the SAP Cloud Platform Performance & APM team, you should ideally

  • have an end-to-end performance mindset to strive for scalability and resilience of cloud native services.

  • share the team's enthusiasm for mastering Performance and related challenges in the cloud. With the wide variety of technologies (Git, GitHub, Gerrit, Jenkins, Concourse, Cloud Foundry, Kubernetes, Docker) and programming languages (Java, JavaScript, Go) we use in our team, you can benefit from a broad range of learning possibilities.

  • support the team to discover new areas and contribute to existing projects based on the team road-map as well as your individual preferences have an end-to-end performance mindset to strive for scalability and resilient of cloud native services.

  • endorse open source activities, be ready and willing about contributing to other teams’ codebases as well as receiving contributions from others and guide them toward meeting the desired quality standards

  • be a strong, committed, self-motivated, reliable team player and proactive networker

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

Required skills

  • Bachelor or master degree in computer science, natural science or a related discipline

  • Good Java and Linux skills, versatility in picking up languages and understanding codebases of other teams

  • Knowledge in cloud computing, distributed systems or container technologies

  • Confidence working within Unix / Linux shell environments

  • Fluency in German and English (written and spoken)

Preferred skills

  • Proficiency in test-driven development, pair programming and code reviews

  • Knowledge of related open source products. Own prior contributions are a plus.

  • Knowledge in working with leading Cloud platforms, such as AWS, Azure, GCP, SAP CP

WORK EXPERIENCE

  • Graduates are welcome! Up to 2 years of work experience in a respective software development area
