What you’ll do:
Position Title: IT Production Management Portal. System Owner
Location: Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada
Expected start date to end date: September 4, 2018 – May 3, 2019
Purpose and Objectives:
Being part of IT Production Management Portal will require you to fulfil the following responsibilities and tasks:
Ensure rock solid and secure business operations of Web Business Systems at SAP IT.
System Engineering and administration covering non-functional requirements
Improve SAP's efficiency enabling optimized operational processes and technical innovation
There will be a close interaction with Development/Projects as well as with our internal customers
Utilize/enhance cloud based system support infrastructure by automation
Define/optimize operational standards as they apply to enterprise level web based systems
Contribute to change and release management to guarantee an agile solution environment
IT Production Management Portals team is responsible for technical operations of corporate and customer facing 24x7 web business systems at SAP: Employee Network solutions (Portal/Wiki/Search) as well as SAP's Public/Support/Partner Sites to name a view. Systems are built on latest open source web/cloud technologies as well as SAP/3rd party products. DevOps is the guiding strong methodology enabling Continuous Development and Integrations in an agile environment. SAP's internal business landscapes build on private, respectively hybrid cloud platforms are a strategic enabler for SAP and therefore crucial for SAP's future success in the cloud.

You will support and implement business systems used by SAP’s employee and SAP’s Partners and Customers. You will ensure Rock solid operations and implement cutting edge technologies to advance our team as front runner.
Who you are:
We’re looking for someone who can challenge the status quo and likes to stay curious. You enjoy working on meaningful projects and are energized by lifelong learning.
Strong knowledge from tech stacks like Java, Ruby, PHP down to OS and infrastructure
Knowledge of Cloud IAAS, Authentication, Authorization, SDN, Containers.
Knowledge around agile development methodologies (SCRUM, DevOps)
Strong knowledge of open source technology of general purpuse
(httpd, nginx, tomcat, mongoDB, mysql etc. )
Basic SAP technology knowledge (Netweaver Java, HANA)
Basic web development and automation frameworks (Chef,Puppet,Ansible)
Analytical and conceptual thinking also across borders and outside the box
Demonstrates excellent technical consulting skills including effective management of difficult situations
Fluent in English
Strong team player in virtual teams crossing functional borders
Enrollment in a Computer Science, Information Systems or similar (Information Technology focused), MIS or DSS degree program preferred
Minimum GPA: 3.0
Must have completed sophomore year of school
Position is open to undergraduate & graduate students
Qualifications for the role:
- Requires candidates to currently be enrolled in an undergraduate, Masters, MBA or PhD degree program which is applicable to the position
