What you’ll do:

  • Position Title: Business and Marketing Intern

  • Location: Vancouver, Canada

  • Expected start date to end date: January 7, 2019 to August 30, 2019

EXPECTATIONS

  • Utilize both business and technical acumen in achieving the deliverables

  • Can independently drive initiatives and tasks end-to-end

  • Collaborate and work jointly with the local team, the global team, and related stakeholders

  • Contribute to and support the work of your team members and the overall deliverables of the team, as required

RESPONSIBILITIES (ONE OR MORE OF THE FOLLOWING):

Business

  • Review and provide qualitative feedback on road map documents

  • Participate in the roll-out of the road map process, including marshalling the update review cycle and developing wiki or community based resources to support the process

  • Gather and analyze usage statistics

  • Manage various road map projects

  • Maintain various databases

Marketing

  • Organize and moderate customer-facing webinars related to road maps

  • Support various marketing initiatives, including

  • writing and promoting articles,

  • creating graphics or slides,

  • creating short demo videos.

  • Maintain various websites, wikis, social media accounts

The SAP Road Maps organization is part of the Office of the CEO board area which oversees and drives strategy and the innovation portfolio across all markets, further deepens key relationships with customers and partners and ensures operational excellence across all board areas.

This team works closely with Product and Solution Owners to build Road Map documents, which are then shared with our customers and partners via conference sessions and webinars. These Road Maps describe how feature and function capabilities of an SAP product or technology are planned to progress over time. The Product Road Maps help customers to ensure their IT adoption plans align with SAP's product and technology plans. In addition, the team facilitates direct engagement between customers, user groups, and the engineering teams in a variety of forums.

This team also drives the adoption and enablement of the SAP Transformation Navigator, a self-service tool which covers the entire SAP landscape and delivers clear recommendations of the SAP offerings required to realize a customer’s digital strategy.

This job assignment is related to specific customer interaction, road map related activities, and internal/external enablement. Specifically, the assignment will involve best practice creation, assisting with the roll out of Road Maps and the SAP Transformation Navigator, collaborating on the planning and delivery of customer events, and marketing asset creation.

QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES PREFERRED

  • Demonstrated business and marketing skills

  • Technology oriented training would be beneficial, but not required

  • Is a big picture thinker who can conceptualize and solve problems that span relevant disciplines and domains

  • Can independently drive initiatives

  • Is well organized with a project-like approach to structuring work assignments

  • Has ability to work collaboratively with groups in various functional areas of SAP, both locally and remotely

  • Has strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Experience in writing articles, blogs, social media content, process documents would be an asset

  • Likes to contribute to the plans and activities of other team members

  • Appeals to someone that likes to have specific objectives with flexibility in how to shape your own work

  • Likes to interact and have fun in the team

  • Nice to have some knowledge of our SAP products

  • Experience working with portal and collaboration technologies a benefit

WORK EXPERIENCE

  • Experience in the context of some or all of the following beneficial

  • project management,

  • customer support,

  • creating and delivering communication assets,

  • working on marketing campaigns,

  • best practice development,

  • change management

  • SAP product experience is beneficial

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

2nd, 3rd or 4th year student studying in the area of commerce, business, marketing, or related discipline.
