Key Areas of Responsibility and Tasks

• 5-7 years of professional experience and/or internships

•5-7 years of experience working with database systems e.g Oracle, SAP HANA, Sybase, MS SQL Server on UNIX, Linux and Windows OS

• Postgres Database experience is a plus

•Sr. level experience in database architecture, automation, installs, backup & recovery, monitoring, and database query tuning

  • Strong writing, mentoring, decision making, communication, and meeting facilitation skills;

  • Strong leadership, organizational and interpersonal skills; the ability to work well with people from different disciplines with varying degrees of technical experience; competence in clear concise and tactful communication with senior executive management, clients, peers and team members

  • Provide oversight and leadership to the DBAs on the team. Coach to clarify assignments and deliverables to the DBA team; review quality of work and manage integration of team members’ work;.

  • Ensure proper use of methodology, tools and procedures

  • Communicate and/or escalate project issues early to account management and delivery management.

  • Adaptability and flexibility to manage deadline pressure, ambiguity and change.

  • Strong performance and tuning skill•Shell scripting skills•Database partitioning, patching, and cloning experience•Proficiency in PL/SQL•Strong verbal and written communication skills•Ability to work effectively in a team and with clients• Install patches and upgrades and Configure database systems• Monitor and maintain database system health and security• Design backup processes for server and associated data• Create accounts for all users and assign security levels• Establish a disaster recovery protocol• Provide end-to-end technical support and problem resolution• Schedule and perform regular database maintenance• Create database management procedures• Evaluate data analysis models and procedures

  • Perform on-call duties when required.

  • Good oral and written communication skills in English

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or related field strongly preferred
