PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES
Application Innovation Services (AIS) is a global organization within the SAP Development Organization.
AIS is responsible for product maintenance and development support for the products SAP Business Suite and S/4HANA and for developments for the SAP Business Suite.
With these tasks, AIS has a high impact on the satisfaction of our customers that use SAP products for business applications (e.g. Financials, Logistics, Sales).
The AIS Strategy & Execution Office (SEO) is a central team in AIS responsible for all cross-divisional topics, one of these is the AIS Data Protection & Privacy and Security program.
In recent years, SAP has provided many product features for data protection and other legal requirements in SAP Business Suite and S/4HANA supporting customers to run their business processes in a compliant manner by using SAP software and appropriate organizational measures.
The new European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) has become effective in May 2018. Therefore, we expect more and more companies to launch projects to evaluate legal requirements and to implement SAP software features for which AIS has maintenance responsibility. Due to the increased attention from both our customers as well as from the legal authorities, we expect ongoing feedback and interactions. Ensuring excellent data protection and product security capabilities for products in AIS responsibility is essential for SAP and for our customers.
The central AIS DPP team
supports AIS development teams with consulting & guidance for questions about architecture concepts, product standards and legal data protection requirements such as GDPR
coordinates for SAP Business Suite all development activities relevant across application areas
coordinates for DPP foundation tools (e.g. Information Life-Cycle Management (ILM), Personal data Information Reporting, Consent Administration, Business Partner) in SAP Business Suite and S/4HANA the portfolio planning for all stakeholders
aligns DPP activities with other units in Development, Consulting and Support
EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS
You are interested in how customers worldwide use SAP software? You ask yourself what the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) means for a big company and the impact it has on how software can be used? Customers have to ensure that personal data are processed only with a legal reason or consent of a person. Customers have to delete personal data after a certain time, but also have to fulfill other laws, for example to make sure that financial auditors can access data according to legal retention periods. Considering a system with hundreds of applications and thousands of data base tables, this is a real challenge.
You have the unique opportunity to join an experienced team and get familiar with many different application products using central concepts & tools in order to offer customers simplified ways to fulfill data protection requirements.
The AIS (Junior) Product Specialist Data Protection & Privacy will work closely together with the AIS DPP Product Owner and AIS DPP Architect and will build up expertise in our SAP functionality and the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Main tasks of the team are
Evaluation of development requests for AIS DPP tools and requests relevant for many application areas
Legal aspects to be covered
Technical solution options
Consulting of AIS teams for questions with regard to data protection functionalities and legal requirements
Prioritization of legal, product standard and customer requirements together with the AIS DPP Product Owner and AIS DPP Architect for SAP Business Suite
Representation of AIS SAP internally and externally (customers and user groups) regarding data protection features in SAP Business Suite and AIS DPP Foundation tools
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
Master’s degree in computer science or equivalent
0-2 years work experience
Programming knowledge, ideally in ABAP or another programming language
Knowledge of the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)
Pragmatic and goal-oriented work attitude
Very good English and German language skills, both written and spoken
Ability to translate legal requirements into software requirements
Excellent analytical skills
Good communication skills, team player
Programming experience in ABAP
Experience with SAP applications (e.g. SAP ERP, S/4HANA)
Knowledge about the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) or the Bundesdatenschutzgesetz (BDSG)
University degree and 0-2 years working experience
