ROLE DESCRIPTION:

Responsible for development focusing on concept, design, coding, testing, quality assurance of complex product features in a development team or responsible for complex product areas. Resolves complex issues within own area of expertise and supports others in resolving complex issues

EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS:

  • Defines deliverables and provides advice and recommendations on solutions that may affect future design decisions.

  • Shows technical, business and/or methodological leadership.

  • Constantly improves work methods and engineering skills in the team and beyond to establish state-of-the-art agile software engineering practices. Enhances skills beyond own core functional focus and works on other tasks for the benefit of the team. Easily moves into new topics.

  • Has expert level and broad overall product and technical knowledge and is recognized internally and externally as a subject matter expert. Has current and in-depth knowledge of industry trends.

If acting as Scrum Master in the LEAN context, please consider the Scrum Master's responsibilities:

  • Responsible for ensuring that Scrum is understood and put into practice properly

  • Scrum Master is a "servant-leader“ for the Product Owner and the Development Team

  • Facilitates Scrum Events on request or as required

  • Coaches the Development Team in self-organization

  • Removes impediments to the Development Team’s progress

WORK EXPERIENCE:

  • Software development expertise

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATION / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:

  • Bachelor or Master degree or equivalent education

  • Business English: fluent

  • Excellent hands-on design, implementation and communication skills.

  • Expert knowledge of Java and J2EE (EJB, Servlets, JSP, XML, JDBC, JMS, Web Services).

  • Strong knowledge of OOAD, UML, design pattern and SDLC.

  • Good understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript and web technologies.

  • Experience with Spring, Hibernate and SQL.

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.

  • Experience in HANA database is desirable.
