Key Responsibilities & Tasks

The Presales FSI Architect Expert identifies, understands customer needs to help shape the Architecture, Platform and Application requirements of our FSI prospects and customers. Additionally, she is expected to drive discussions around Digital Transformation and similar topics with the customer - Level executives. She is expected to work with the Account Executive and the Sales Leadership to plan and execute engagements centered around the SAP Portfolio of Solutions for the FSI sector. The Presales expert is seen as a Subject Matter Expert for the FSI Expert and as an evangelist of SAP solutions in the sector.

Strategic Responsibilities:

  • Quickly establishes oneself as the thought leader of the Virtual Account Team (VAT) and fine tunes account strategy.

  • Model engagements around larger themes like Digital Transformations, Innovation etc.

  • Guides the larger VAT team in creation of overall theme & competitive differentiation

  • Effectively transitions engagement to implementation partner / Field Services / Partners

  • Maintain a close understanding and appreciation of competitive solutions.

  • Is proactive in sharing their knowledge with the greater presales community through Solution Hubs or other enterprise social media

Business Development / Readiness Tasks:

  • Collaborate with the Sales Leadership to identify whitespace opportunities and strategies to address them with the SAP Solution Portfolio

  • Participate in one to one and one to many marketing events for FSI

  • Stay current on solution and industry updates in their domain leveraging SAP learning maps etc.

Deal Planning and Execution Responsibilities :

  • Plan and manage a detailed customer engagement with the Sales Leadership and the Virtual Account (VAT) team consisting of solution, industry and solution delivery experts

  • Orchestrate across customer initiatives and across SAP activities to unify and rationalize SAP’s messaging to the customer

  • Understand Industry Reference Architecture and use that to drive meaningful discussions with the customers and partners

  • Deliver cogent, comprehensive and compelling messages crafted around SAP Solutions / proposal through presentations, demonstrations and other media.

  • Executes rigorous reviews & Quality Assurance ahead of critical events like RFP Presentations, Solution Demonstrations c-Level playback sessions

Experience & Language Requirements

  • 12 years of experience in enterprise business applications in the FSI Industry in Presales, Business Development or Delivery roles. Candidates with a record of managing and implementing enterprise solutions in a complex IT landscape in the FSI could also be considered

  • Significant number of large and successful engagements

  • Expert knowledge/expertise in the FSI industry

  • Experience in sales and sales processes

  • Excellent presentation and communication skills English: proficient


  • Bachelor equivalent: Essential

  • Master equivalent
