PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES

As a software developer, you will get the chance to put your ideas into action with maximum impact. The Global Technology Legal Compliance (GTLC) team in SAP’s Global Business Operation (GBO) department is responsible for the company’s 3rd party intellectual property intake management - this includes, for example, open source software, commercial third-party software, etc. We are looking for an exceptional candidate to join our team to help design and implement innovative, intelligent, state of the art, easy to use tools, and to drive seamless integration with other internal systems.
EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS
You will be responsible for development, including the design, coding, testing, and quality assurance of IP scan related tools and systems. Candidates who demonstrate initiative and have a proven history of driving topics to resolution with a high level of quality, speed, and reliability will succeed in the role. You will work closely together within a tight knit group of developers and analysts, and will need to share your technical expertise to ensure success of the whole team.
To excel in our continuously changing environment, you will need to be comfortable evolving your own skills and work methods to ensure state-of-the-art software engineering skills. The ability to share your skills beyond your own functional focus, to the greater benefit of the team and organization at large, must be demonstrated in your work history.
3 years’ development experience in Java, Spring, or Grails
Experience with Maven/Gradle, Jenkins
Knowledge in Design Patterns, enterprise-grade security and concurrency
Experience with O/R frameworks including JPA, Hibernate, OData
Experience in modern web UI design and JQuery, Bootstrap
Experience with schema design and implementation in databases including any of: MS SQL Server, Postgres, Redis, MongoDB
Strong testing, configuration and deployment skills
Must be an effective and efficient problem solver
Possess the ability to work effectively in a team environment, as well as independently with minimal direction
Must have good interpersonal and communications skills including well developed verbal and written English
Experience in developing APIs and building integrations with other systems and applications
Experience in developing highly scalable and responsive web applications is a big plus
Experience developing solutions deployed into Unix or Linux environments in a plus
Experience with test-driven development is an asset
Experience with various source control systems: Perforce, Git, Subversion, Hana Repository, DTR, Clearcase, PTC, TFS, etc. is an asset
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATION / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
- Bachelor or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent education
