COMPANY DESCRIPTION

As market leader in enterprise application software, SAP helps companies of all sizes and industries innovate through simplification. From the back office to the boardroom, warehouse to storefront, on premise to cloud, desktop to mobile device – SAP empowers people and organizations to work together more efficiently and use business insight more effectively to stay ahead of the competition. SAP applications and services enable customers to operate profitably, adapt continuously, and grow sustainably.

At SAP.iO Venture Studio, we’re transforming the way that SAP builds new businesses. We do this by building great products with an insanely great team. We’re looking for a Lead Product Designer to join Atlas (www.atlasapp.io), our next generation location analytics platform and one of SAP.iO’s incubations.

About SAP.iO Venture Studio:

With more than €20 billion in annual sales, SAP manages an enormous diversity of businesses. However, moving the needle inside of SAP’s dominant enterprise business requires adding more than incremental innovation – it requires the development of massively disruptive organizations.

SAP.iO Venture Studio is tasked to create those businesses, using SAP’s unique position and differentiated data sources to transform industries ranging from talent management to security. Our incubations must be big enough to move the needle at SAP, attack new market opportunities for the company, and be able to be tested through rapid iteration and constant customer feedback.

We identify promising talent and ideas, invest between $750K and $2.5M in seed stage capital, and scale the ventures over time. The startups built within SAP.iO incubation operate differently to traditional corporate business units: General Managers are entrusted with end-to-end responsibilities, teams manage to cash, and Boards provide oversight and regular guidance.

Atlas by SAP:

At Atlas, we are disrupting the market for geospatial data access and usability. Formerly complex and cumbersome multi-tiered data sets can now be accessed and analyzed in a single platform by business users. For the first time, users can secure location insights that incorporate streaming point-of-sale, traffic and demographic data without requiring the help of geospatial software engineers.

In short, we are building the next generation location analytics platform that empowers users of all types to make decisions based on comprehensive location data.

Lead Product Designer:

We’re looking for a passionate product designer to help take our product to the next level. You'll have outsized influence on the direction of our analytics tool at an early stage, and will be a key voice in product strategy discussions.

You’ll be responsible for all UX, UI, and most importantly, prototyping efforts.

You should be obsessed with building inspirational & delightful experiences, and particularly excited about the opportunity to use a map as the canvas for interactive analytics.

Requirements:

  • 4 years of software product design experience, with 3 years working on customer-facing enterprise software (bonus for analytics or mapping experience!)

  • Strong design capabilities around prototyping, interaction design, and visual design

  • Experience using requisite tools of choice (e.g., for prototyping, InDesign or Framer or another tool)

  • Working knowledge of HTML/CSS (background in development a big plus)

Strengths:

  • Empathy for the Analytics User: We deliver insights for analysts. Being analyticaly-oriented and able to understand their problems is key

  • Big Picture Thinking: Ability to work from a specific problem to a generic solution

  • Business Savviness: Ability to balance long-term solutions with quick wins while understanding the needs of the business

  • Strong written, verbal and visual communication skills
