The SAP Global Marketing team is looking for an experienced and innovative Director - Account Based Marketing to join our award winning Global Account Based Marketing Center of Excellence. In this role, you’ll foster deeper partnerships with Sales, Product Marketing, Industry Marketing and other entities across the organization. As a member of the Global ABM COE team, you'll plan and carry out targeted marketing activities at the industry and customer account level, providing insights for decision-maker engagement while maximizing the efficiency of the sales and marketing process.
This person will have experience working within cross-functional teams specifically Sales and can demonstrate experience in building integrated marketing campaigns intended to accelerate or create pipeline or build awareness or perception change with key accounts. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in building and managing field marketing programs, developing and executing strategic and scalable account-based marketing campaigns, taking an analytical approach to developing account specific marketing plans and engaging with sales leadership at the highest level. This person should have a strong understanding of ERP and cloud-based technology.
Collaborate across the organization to build and expand SAP’s Account Based Marketing (ABM) practice.
Organize and execute programs that generate interest and enhance perception among our target accounts while also creating new opportunities or enhancing existing ones.
Develop and deploy ready-to-implement marketing tactics and provide sales enablement on an account and industry basis utilizing various channels
Create, manage and execute account-based marketing programs, in partnership with account teams, agency and others, to drive program adoption that will accelerate usage within the accounts.
Analyze metrics and reports to determine effectiveness of program activities and integrated thought leadership content consumption
Identify opportunities to improve marketing effectiveness through better audience segmentation, marketing techniques, and processes
Collaborate with sales and sales operations on developing the appropriate marketing metrics including visibility into marketing campaign results and measurement of campaign effectiveness, lead generation, opportunity creation, service adoption, pipeline contribution, and ROI of our marketing efforts within the account.
Develop assets necessary to support some of our most strategic customers and address their particular challenges and opportunities.
7 years of B2B marketing experience, preferably at a tech company.
Deep expertise with Marketing Automation software a plus.
Deep experience with building and implementing account-based marketing program
Experience working with sales and across the organization to accelerate or add revenue pipeline.
Strong understanding of marketing channels and technologies.
Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks at once, while still paying attention to detail
Ability to work autonomously with self-starter approach to work and enthusiasm at the opportunity to help shape the strategy
Clear understanding of emerging technologies with the capability to skillfully lead business-oriented conversations with cross organization marketing teams.
Bachelor's degree in Marketing or Business or comparable education/experience.
Proven track record of managing integrated marketing campaigns using multiple tactics.
Track record of developing and managing multiple marketing programs simultaneously.
Familiarity with the technology sales cycle and how to employ marketing communication strategies to nurture leads, drive adoption and accelerate growth.
A strong team player – comfortable and motivated working in a collaborative environment, with the ability to build relationships with key stakeholders – product marketing, global marketing and sales teams.
Interested in building programs and processes from the ground up.
Not afraid to try new things – driven to constantly improve results.
Experience in working closely with sales and account teams to develop collaborative marketing plans.
Solid writing and presentation skills
Highly organized, data-driven and detail-oriented.
Thrives in a fast-paced environment with the ability to pivot and problem-solve.
Demonstrated ability to achieve practical results working cross-functionally with sales, marketing, and product teams
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATION / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent required
MBA/Master's degree or equivalent preferred
