As a Principal Software Engineer, you will be working with a team of Product Managers, UI developers and QA members to develop cutting edge, state-of-the-art SaaS applications. You will be working in an Agile SCRUM environment with development responsibilities that span across all layers of the application.

In addition, you will be able to clearly communicate your ideas and both openly and honestly provide and receive regular input from your peers. While teamwork is of the utmost in importance, you can also work independently with minimal supervision, and take the initiative to constantly keep yourself engaged.

You possess a strong focus on quality and attention to detail and possess the ability to quickly understand and solve unique and even undocumented programming problems. Naturally curious, you have a penchant for and drive to quickly learn and master skills in new technologies.

Job Duties include:

  • Design, develop and maintain software applications using state-of-the-art tools and technologies

  • Research, recommend and implement new technologies, tools and frameworks that can help enhance product capabilities, improve product quality and team productivity

  • Participates in the testing process through test review and analysis, test witnessing and certification of software

  • Work with technical and business partners to communicate impact and articulate risks of proposed changes

  • Ensure that the developed software fully and correctly utilizes the infrastructure

  • Identify cost, technical and schedule impacts of changes to production baseline

  • Ensure that the technical baseline is documented and configuration managed

  • Understand and promote standards, guidelines, policies for the use and integration of technology

  • Typically reports to an engineering manager

Required Qualifications:

  • 8 years’ experience in hands-on multi-tiered transactional-based systems, 4 years Full Software Lifecycle Experience in OO Environments with Java

  • Strong understanding of Core Java concepts and principles

  • Strong working experience in front-end technologies including HTML5, CSS3, JSP, JavaScript, JQuery, AJAX, SAP UI5

  • Strong understanding of Java EE Web Application Technologies including JSP, Servlet, Struts, Spring and JDBC

  • Strong understanding of RDBMS and familiar with HANA/Oracle or other major databases like SQL Server and DB2

  • Solid experience in SQL tuning, stored procedures.

  • Solid experience in application performance tuning using JProfiler, Memory analyzer.

  • Experience working in an Agile development environment, preferably SCRUM

  • Familiar with tools like GIT, Subversion, Eclipse, Splunk, FindBugs

  • Working experience in integrating multiple systems.

  • Solid working experience in REST API, oAUTH, Web Security

  • Solid experience with Unit Testing/Test Driven Development/Behavior Driven Development

  • Solid working knowledge of OOAD, UML, design patterns and software development life cycle

  • Solid working experience on one or more of the following market-leading application servers/web containers such as Tomcat, WebLogic, WebSphere or JBoss

  • Enthusiastic, reliable individual with excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to present technical findings and approach in a clear and concise manner to both a technical and non-technical audience

  • Experience with Agile Methodologies is highly desired

  • B.S. in Computer Science. MS is preferred
