Location: Plano, TX
Purpose and Objective: SAP Labs, LLC seeks a Development Architect for our Plano, TX office location to be responsible for the aligned and consistent architecture of a product. Evaluate architecture risks and estimate effort for business case or backlog items, and prepare management decisions on these topics.
Expectations and Tasks: Translate business and product requirements into technical requirements, models and software architecture. Collect and document requirements and constraints with high impact on the architecture as the basis for architectural decisions. Responsible for defining the product’s architecture together with implementation teams, and drive alignment of architecture concepts. Identify opportunities for reuse of architecture concepts or software parts. Align architecture with stakeholders regarding architectural or technical dependencies. Support and advice product owners by ensuring technical and architectural feasibility, readiness, and compliance. Responsible for setting up collaboration with the developers and architects of the product implementation teams, and contribute to all tasks of the team. Coach and advise the implementation teams on all aspects which have an impact on the architecture. Review design documents of the implementation teams regarding compliance with ACD and relevant product line guidelines. Implement software parts, typically related to infrastructure or architecture. Propose improvements and innovations for implementing a product, but also in development processes and methodologies. 30% travel required.
Education and Qualifications/Skills and Competencies: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field of study and 7 years of experience required. The company will also accept a Master’s degree and 5 years of experience.
Work Experience: Experience must involve five years in the following: SAP S/4HANA Platform development; Agile software development and Scrum methodology; SAP HANA In-memory database; ABAP programming language and object oriented concepts; Core Data Services, HANA SQL, Data Modelling and Data Analysis. Experience must also involve five years in User Interface design and development using SAP UI5; Integration services - HANA Cloud Integration, oDATA, REST / SOAP service creation and consumption and SAP Process Integration (PI) and IDOCs; Designing software solutions for Oil & Gas Upstream business focused on Production and Revenue Accounting processes; and SAP Finance (FI), Sales and Distribution (SD), Material Management (MM) and SAP Transactional Banking. 30% travel required.
