Job Description Overview:

SAP Ariba is seeking a highly experienced marketer to lead our regional customer marketing strategy and program overall for each of our regions across the globe. The person in this role should have a strong background customer marketing with a mastery of the entire customer lifecycle with the end goal of driving customer business outcomes and continued customer success with SAP Ariba leading practices from initial business requirements, onboarding, enablement, adoption, optimization, advocacy and renewal. This role will be accountable for liaising directly with our customer value organization leaders in each region to drive marketing plans supporting our business targets. This role reports to the Head of Global Customer Marketing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own the strategic model for regional customer marketing function and define operating model and alignment of resources

  • Establish KPIs and align with key business stakeholders to also define reporting needs, audiences, cadence an delivery model

  • Manage the regional customer marketing team and define and optimize team strucutre based on business objectives; Manage team performance based on KPIs and coach and guide team on regional execution and achivement

  • Work closely in alignment with customer value organization leadership in developing strategic marketing plans and programs to support customer business objectives including renewal revenue, NPS, innovation adoption

  • Coordinate with other SAP Ariba marketing functions to align overall marketing strategy across the Ariba network (ie Buyer and Supplier marketing needs)

  • Collaborate with SAP customer marketing to share best practices and align to SAP strategy

  • Possess a high degree of customer empathy, relationship building and ability to distill customer feedback into go-to-market plans

  • Strong business acumen with an ability to understanding of the market economics, whitespace and opportunities, and (global) business objectives


The role demands an individual who has exceptional leadership quality, is agile and can ramp quickly into an innovation-led, cloud/SaaS environment. The ideal candidate will have excellent marketing strategy & communication skills, a self-motivated drive, team leadership skills, and the unique ability to deliver fast time-to-market with high quality and flawless execution in region. A strong customer empathy and relationship building ability is a must.

The candidate must have:

  • 10 years’ experience in marketing strategy with customer marketing and other related marketing roles focused on post sales marketing

  • Domain expertise high tech enterprise software industry with ecommerce or procurement solutions a plus

  • Proven success developing customer marketing strategy and plans at both regional and global levels including experience in regional execution of customer programs including customer events, nurture, and advocacy

  • Team leadership experience with a proven track record of developing high performing teams and culture

  • Strong ability to work with executive leadership; Strong executive presence with ability to provide leadership point of view on marketing contribution to business targets

  • Growth and innovation mindset; Track record for driving innovative, creative concepts from strategy through to execution

  • Ability to think strategically and execute with attention to detail.

  • Exceptional customer-facing skills and experience

  • Must be a team player, demonstrated high performer and willingness to take initiative.

  • Ability to develop effective working relationships across the company, including other marketing teams, sales, product management and business development.

  • Bachelor's or master’s degree, with degree in business administration, marketing or related fields a plus
