Location: Palo Alto, CA

Purpose and Objective: Ariba, Inc. seeks a Developer at our Palo Alto, CA office to be responsible for development focusing on design, coding, testing, and quality assurance of specific product features in an operational procurement invoicing development team.

Expectations and Tasks: Analyze and solve issues in existing and new code. Demonstrate full responsibility for accept tasks and therefore demonstrate a high level of quality, speed, reliability, and efficiency. Work closely together with other team members to ensure the team success. Enhance skills beyond own core functional focus and work on other tasks for the benefit of the team. Demonstrate proficient overall product knowledge share domain expertise within the team. 10% travel required.

Education and Qualifications/Skills and Competencies: Position requires a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field and 5 years of experience, or alternatively, a Master's degree and 2 years of experience.

Work Experience: Experience must include 2 years of experience involving: computer science fundamentals and programming with one or more software languages; JAVA programming language; Object Oriented programming; writing software programs to solve customer use cases; understanding customer issues, translating them into software requirements and designing how to programs based on software requirements; application architecture and design; programming according to existing architecture and programming practices; re-producing defects, debugging and troubleshooting problems based on log and symptoms provided by the customer; identifying the application code causing defects; making the appropriate code change needed to fix issues and testing it; application framework including hibernate, Struts and third party open source libraries including apache and Jersey; architecture design patterns; modeling and design software including Visual Studio and Rational Rose to design and document new features; Test automation framework such as Selenium, Junit or TestNG to write automation test code for new feature development and defect fix provided for customer issues; build software Ant and Maven; source code repository tools including Perforce and Github; debugging and troubleshooting production issues; monitoring tools alerts and mass production logs processing. 10% travel required.
