Technical Writer - Product Development

The Technical Writer will have the opportunity to create and edit content related to the SAP Fieldglass Product Management team. The Technical Writer will research, organize, and explain complex topics in a manner that can be understood by both business and technical reads with varying levels of expertise. We are looking for a highly-motivated Technical Writer with strong writing skills, experience with software documentation, and the ability to grasp complex technologies and tools. This is an on-site position in either our Chicago or Naperville office.

What You Will Do

  • Maintain documentation based on application releases and enhancements

  • Perform writing assignments to document standard development requirements and processes

  • Interview subject matter experts to understand and document features and functionality of the SAP Fieldglass application

  • Proofread and edit content created by others for spelling and grammar

  • Work independently to test and document application features

  • Maintain documentation based on application releases and enhancements

  • Manage multiple assignments simultaneously, while working independently as well as with others

  • Create user assistance deliverables that enable users to deploy, administer, and use SAP Fieldglass software and/or coordinate the creation of these deliverables

What You Need to Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical communication field or equivalent work experience

  • 2 years of experience in a software technical writing role

  • Experience with content management systems

  • Working knowledge of DITA, HTML, and XML

  • Demonstrated ability in presenting technical information

  • Excellent writing, grammar, and editing skills

  • Experience with MadCap Flare and Ixiasoft is a plus

  • Experience with JIRA and Confluence is a plus

  • Familiarity with Vendor Management Systems, Managed Service Providers, and the Service Procurement Process is a plus
