As an essential element to maintain highest levels of technical competence across all of SAP’s latest products and technologies, the Support Delivery organization establishes a team dedicated to imperative core competencies in all relevant areas.

This Support Core Competence team will have a very tight collaboration with P&I to optimally help our most critical customers during the implementation and operation of the latest cutting-edge innovations. Within the Support Core Competence team, we are resolving complex product issues in different areas and contribute actively to the improvement of the product quality. Acquired experience will be the basis to drive the development and industrialization of our proactive support offerings as well as the knowledge transfer across the Support Delivery organization. This will further drive the shift towards new technologies within Support Delivery.

As an architect of the Support Core Competence team in the area of SAP S/4HANA Logistics, you will be responsible to perform the root cause analysis of complex product issues based on real customer cases, as well as drive the issue resolution together with SAP development and other LoBs. You will translate gained insights and experience into knowledge assets and services delivery tools/ procedures.

As a Principal Support Engineer you will have the ability to Influences successfully up to CIO Level (larger companies). Leads internal and external programs and customer projects.


As the SAP S/4HANA Logistics Architect in the Support Core Competence team you will:

  • Perform a deep dive functional and technical analysis of complex issues within the area of SAP S/4HANA Logistics based on real customer cases

  • Is responsible for the definition of the overall technical or application or operations solution design

  • Leads the design in a complex/non-standard MaxAttention Next Generation program (or similar tasks)

  • Defines an SAP-related IT strategy for customers (e.g. as part of a platform and roadmap service)

  • Drives the architecture discussion with customer across all workstreams of the project and aligns the technical or application aspects with other projects in the program

  • Has deep technical or application architecture skills and understanding in at least one area. A third architect flavor (beside technology and application) is the operations architect (responsible for the transition to operations workstream)

  • Has general basic knowledge and good understanding on general and SAP specific technology/applications/operations/ architecture/ infrastructure and soft skills to lead a topic end-to-end

  • Strategic/analytical thinking

  • Has willingness to learn and lead multiple topics

  • Drive the identification and resolution of top product issues in close collaboration of SAP development

  • Use your SAP internal network to build a close collaboration model with the relevant LoBs within SAP

  • Clarify existing expectations with customer’s technology/ operations experts and stakeholders

  • Support critical de-escalation activities

  • Create an approach which integrates diverse points of views and which drives success from a technology/ operation perspective.

  • Actively share unique experience with all relevant areas in Support Delivery.

  • Work closely together with your peers and the executive management to ensure the success of SAP’s next generation support.

  • Drive knowledge management and innovation activities based on this experience with customers.

  • Documents successful approaches, tools etc. and makes them available to colleagues at SAP.

  • Coach and mentor colleagues within the team.


Required skills

  • Proven track record of deep functional and architectural skills in the area of SAP S/4HANA Logistics

  • Profound knowledge in the S/4HANA Logistics processes and functions, like Order to Cash / Procure to Pay / Product Plan, etc

  • Knowledge in the relevant technology stack, like SAP Fiori for S/4HANA Logistics and SAP HANA

  • Experience in managing critical and complex customers.

  • Experience as a Focus TQM

  • Executes customer development in context of ICC / IV Methodologies

  • Strong customer drive and experience in closely cooperating with various LoBs within SAP.

  • Deep experience in service and tool development within SAP.

  • Strong analytical skills and openness to continuously learn new technologies.

  • Experience working under pressure in a global environment

  • Experience leading complex projects with several sub-projects and with multiple applications involved or workstreams within MaxAttention projects

  • Experience in Cloud Products like Ariba, Hybris, IBP, etc is a plus

  • Integration knowledge for the complete business suite with focus in S/4HANA Logistics

  • Participation in Critical situations as De-Escalation Architect

  • Strong ABAP Analysis Skills

  • Integrates seamless in project teams and takes an active expert role

  • Ramp up knowledge about HR processes and labor law

  • High soft skills (leadership / people management / interpersonal skills)

  • Architecture knowledge for the complete HANA Cloud Platform incl. IT strategy

  • Industry experience for Consumed Products or Retail
