The Delivery Director is charged with regional leadership, team member development, and ultimate accountability for Engagement Delivery across all Service Lines. This regional leader will be focused on managing the Solution Line teams responsible for delivering customer engagements, to a high level of quality and to meet or exceed Customer expectations.

The Director will demonstrate the ability to think and plan strategically – to manage team size, skills mix – and to provide leadership and direction overseeing multiple programs, provide executive oversight and quality assurance on customer deployments, while ensuring alignment with Customer & Seller Management teams and the Services Sales team. People management & development, strong organizational leadership and a strong track record of Delivery success in complex situations are critical to drive the success of customer initiatives, as is broad experience of working with across multiple geographies and cultures.

Experience of running Ariba Services Practices or Ariba Program is recommended in this position, previous experiences as procurement leader or professional buyer are also a good reference. Any other knowledge on Integration with SAP and Procurement Process Mapping is a nice to have.

Critical role requirements

  • Provide leadership and direction to Delivery teams including, skills development, consistent methodology, quality assurance

  • Balances resource needs across the region to optimize efficiency and impact of solutions, taking into account individual capabilities and gaps - leveraging global counterparts where necessary or appropriate

  • Manages customer expectations to optimize productivity and increase impact of solutions to maximize commercial benefit for both customer and Ariba and Foster

  • Coordinates project management for complex or key accounts based on risk factors such as size of solution, type of solution, and fee structure

  • Works closely with Services Sales and Value Engineering teams for improve existing and develop new Service offerings to grow the Services business

  • Mentors newer managers and team members, Manages direct reports and project team. Proactively mentors junior resources through coordination of skill set development, areas of professional interest, and company needs

  • Applies a broad knowledge of Project Delivery in the Procurement and Finance arena

  • Articulates the value and benefits of the Ariba Network and added value of Ariba’s solutions, both service and software offerings

  • Identifies opportunities to refine existing or develop new intellectual property and methodology, frameworks and tools e.g., questionnaires, presentations, implementation methodology, performance management based on project experience, research, and analysis

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree required, MBA preferred

  • 10 years of experience, through a combination in professional services and corporate environment

  • Track record of leading and delivering excellence – on time – across a portfolio of projects. Experience within a services based, matrix organization and demonstrated ability to lead people across several international markets
