PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES

The Legal Compliance & Integrity Office (LCIO) is a part of the Global Finance & Administration Board area, and reports to both SAP SE’s Global CFO and the Audit Committee of the Supervisory Board. Our mission is to advance SAP’s business goals by promoting a culture of integrity, and by mitigating a defined set of legal risks. The LCIO is responsible for various SAP compliance initiatives, including oversight and support of the SAP Code of Business Conduct, employee compliance training and communications, and the global governance document framework. We also monitor and enforce compliance. Our focus mainly includes compliance with the FCPA (Foreign Corrupt Practices Act), UK Bribery Act, other global anti-corruption and bribery laws, and anti-competition compliance (in tandem with field legal).

EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS

The successful candidate will be expected to support compliance for all acquired entities (AEs) globally. His/her key responsibilities will be:

  • Review and implement compliance programs for AEs to ensure they are effective and efficient in identifying and preventing anti-bribery and anti-corruption risks.

  • Ensure that compliance issues and concerns in AEs are being appropriately evaluated, investigated and resolved.

  • Develop and deliver compliance training for AEs on compliance topics including avoidance of bribery and corruption, competition law concerns, misuse of third party intellectual property, handling confidentiality and conflicts of interest, doing business with government customers, and fraud in the contracting process.

  • Review and provide compliance input on existing and proposed processes for AEs.

  • Collaborate with other departments (e.g., GGRC, HR, Corporate Audit, Global Legal, Export Controls, etc.) to direct compliance issues to appropriate existing channels for investigation and to resolve difficult legal compliance issues.

  • Review and analyze Due Diligence results and processes for AEs.

  • Interact with employees and leaders on compliance campaigns and issues.

  • Monitor global compliance trends and changes to legal and regulatory climate in the area of anti-corruption and bribery, and proactively develop solutions.

The position enjoys excellent exposure within the senior business on a Global scale.

The position reports to the Global Compliance Officer – Cloud Business Group and Acquired Entities.

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATION / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

  • Fluent business English language skills are required; secondary language skills are nice to have

  • Accredited lawyer

  • 6 years of work experience in legal and/ or compliance organizations

  • Hands-on with extreme attention to detail and written documentation

  • Proactive, dynamic and result driven individual

  • Strong grasp of code of conduct, business ethics policies and current compliance practices

  • Demonstrated ability to navigate complex issues

  • Demonstrated ability to work with senior leadership in dynamic environments

  • Experience in the areas of detection and prevention of fraud or corruption preferred

  • Very good communication and collaboration skills

  • Previous experience at SAP or in the IT industry is preferable.
