PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES

SAP IT’s Communication Technology & Central (CT&C) team is dedicated to providing employees with world class support and collaboration services. The unit "IT Germany" as a subset of CT&C is responsible for all German offices of the SAP group except Headquarters and is supported by several internal and external services.

To ensure full coverage of business demand, all new services, service improvements, and associated infrastructure are designed and operated along global standards in direct alignment with all relevant stakeholders.

EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS:

This position is designed to act as a highly skilled technology consultant in the area of Client Support and infrastructure management with a focus on new technologies in the area of PCs, Mobiles and Multimedia. The individual will be part of a team responsible for the operation and configuration of the current and future solutions in the above mentioned areas. There will be close interaction with all related SAP IT teams as well as with our internal customers.

Your tasks will include:

  • Coordinate support tasks between 2nd and 3rd level support as an expert in IT support

  • In strong collaboration with internal and external Service Providers- Manage, escalate and drive 2nd level client support for the Eschborn SAP office (standard tasks supported by an external service provider)- intervene in emergencies and support the local IT support units

  • Ensure and optimize technical service delivery to ensure SLA adherence as well as adherence to standards, processes and security processes

  • Ensure high availability and deliver stable operations

  • Continuously improve and refine IT Support services with a strong customer focus

  • Be the on-site interface for internal customers regarding the management of local IT environment

  • Provide information and advise our end users in a solution-oriented manner regarding the latest technologies, best fitting services and if necessary to reduce tensions and comprehensively explain situations such as given conditions.

  • Proactively monitor technical issues pertaining to SAP IT Services and make recommendations to reduce the risk/impact of similar future problems.

  • Maintain and expand working knowledge of current SAP processes, as well as their integration and methods of support delivery.

  • Share best practices with team members to contribute and enhance quality and efficiency of internal customer support

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

  • University degree in computer science

  • ITIL certifications

  • Advanced and broad levels of technical skills as well as communication skills

  • Comprehensive operational knowledge of all major technology areas comprising of Apple and Microsoft Software, as well as of Mobile technology (hardware and OS).

  • In-depth knowledge of Apple and Microsoft Software (OS and applications)

  • Good knowledge of network infrastructure and server architecture

  • Extremely motivated and interested to embrace new technologies and adopt new skills

  • Excellent communication skills and well experienced in communication with customers;ability to convey technical issues to customers and translate their requirements into technical specifications

  • Comprehensive and effective task and project management

  • Effective time management / Ability to coordinate multiple tasks or projects simultaneously

  • Excellent behavior towards external and internal customers, partners and colleagues even in extreme situations

  • Highly motivated person who can work independently and enjoys working with people and in virtual teams

  • Language skills: Excellent English and German skills - written and spoken

  • Soft skills: Team-Player, curious and involved, creative, motivated, reliable, good communicator, user-centric, service oriented, can-do attitude

WORK EXPERIENCE

  • 2 years of technical experience in 1st and 2nd level support for IT clients and infrastructureof at least a mid-size company (>1000 clients)

  • 1 year of practical experience with extensive networks and client/server structures

  • 1 year of practical experience with support of mobile devices and relevant OS(Android, IOS, Windows mobile)
