Our team defines and provides the Next Generation Interaction Center solution by developing SAP Customer Engagement Center with modern world-class user experience run in the digital economy wherever you want and integrating whatever you need to ensure meaningful customer engagement. It is the central application for communicating and collaborating with customers through multiple channels, covering all application areas of Customer Engagement (Commerce, Marketing, Sales & Service).

The cloud operations of SAP Customer Engagement Center will be your starting point. During your journey of further career development, you’ll be part of a growing cloud operations team to ensure along with your peers smooth running cloud products in the area of Customer Service.

EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS

Being a DevOps Engineer in an interdisciplinary team, you shouldn’t be shy to interact with others, to share your insight, and to identify areas of improvement. At the same time you are accepting individual responsibility for the availability of your deliverables on time and on budget.

You should have a passion to operate and monitor our cloud based system landscape and customer environments along the software lifecycle, including:

  • Contribute to definition, implementation and optimization of customer onboarding process to ensure customer success.

  • Contribute to definition and optimization of operations models with high standards in all processes to ensure excellent quality

  • Provisioning, operating & maintaining cloud tenants in the SAP cloud platform

  • Proactive monitoring and ensuring of service availability, performance & system health

  • Analyzing and responding to customer incidents and service requests

  • Ability to understand system wide functionality and concepts

  • Work in an Agile development environment which requires the individual to be self-driven, take decisions independently and be flexible in order to cater on demand

  • Collaborate with engineering and product management as well as other service groups

  • Develop and continuously improve software, e.g. monitoring tools like Availability service, Dynatrace

  • Develop and continuously improve system landscape support, e.g. codepipes tool for deployment

  • Required for on-call and/or after-hours support

  • By completing these tasks you will play a crucial role to fulfill our customer Service Level Agreements (SLA) such as 99.5% system availability.

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

Required skills

From experience, we know that a bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, science, or business administration is instrumental to advance your development career at SAP CEC. As part of an interdisciplinary and international team, we build on your communication skills as a team player and your fluency in the English and German languages. Your analytical skills enable you to learn from every failure and to go forward with every iteration.

Customers are at the very heart of what we do. Being a customer of modern web services, you appreciate the importance of understanding the requirements of customers for providing excellent service. The ability to multitask and prioritize is very important to solve challenging matters and to prevent stressful situations for our customers.

Having said this, you should have some solid software and operations development skills and a passion to operate cloud based applications at high quality for people like yourself: customers.

Knowledge about monitoring- and development-tools in a Cloud Foundry based environment, experience in cloud architectures, as well as skills in Java, JavaScript and HTML5 are important for your new role.

Preferred skills

It’s important that you understand what it means to build software for the cloud: being cloud savvy, keywords such as cloud foundry, IaaS, PaaS, DevOps, continuous delivery, ruby, microservices, and OpenStack, pique your interest.

Our software allows our customers to life in both worlds: cloud as well as non-cloud solutions. Thus, you too want to see the holistic picture and have the desire to understand the relevant paradigms for existing non-cloud SAP solutions as well.

Experience in operation, delivery or support of non-cloud applications, such as SAP Business Suite applications SAP CRM or SAP ERP, is also an advantage for you.
