Job Title: Senior Developer
Location: Champaign, IL
Purpose and Objective: SAP Labs, LLC seeks a Senior Developer for our Champaign, IL office location to be responsible for design and development of end-to-end automation frameworks for distributed software systems, including coding, testing, and quality assurance.
Expectations and Tasks: Develops continuous integration and builds automation. Maintains Hadoop and its components in pipelines (Hadoop Hive, YARN, Tez, Spark etc.). Carries out performance benchmarking of open source software distributions and SAP software. Resolves complex issues within own area of expertise and supports others in resolving issues. Shows initiative and drives topics to resolution in a high level of quality, speed, reliability, and efficiency. Works closely together with others and shares expertise to ensure product success. Constantly improves own work methods to gain state-of-the-art agile software engineering skills. Enhances skills beyond own core functional focus and works on other tasks for the benefit of the team. Applies advanced overall product and technical knowledge, and shares expertise within and across team and organization. Applies advanced knowledge of development processes and product standards. 10% travel required.
Education and Qualifications/Skills and Competencies: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Communications, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field of study and 6 years of experience required. The company will also accept a Master's degree and 4 years of experience.
Work Experience: Experience must involve at least 2 years of experience in Hadoop and its components from a testing perspective; at least 3 years of experience in designing test strategy for an engineering team, as well as internet cloud platforms and testing in a cloud
environment; and at least 4 years of experience implementing and designing systems for testability. 10% travel required.
Travel: 10% travel required.
