DESCRIPTION

As part of this internship with the Platform Monitoring team, you will be working with a team of DevOps engineers that define, delivers, tests and support the tools needed for end-to-end monitoring of systems used by our internal and external customers. Within this team your responsibilities include the integration, automation and support of state of the art tools used today for monitoring.

EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS

  • Provide excellent on time support for internal and external incidents.

  • Create test automation for our various Monitoring solutions and environments

  • Integrating, enhancing and customizing various monitoring solutions to meet customer expectations

  • Standardizing and deploying tools in different environments and datacenters around the globe via automation

  • Leveraging modern APIs for integration and automation

  • Assist other teams with troubleshooting and the root-cause diagnosis

  • Work with an agile scrum team distributed across different locations

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

  • University studies in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or equivalent (active student status - at least 4 semesters sucessfully done)

  • Basic Experience with configuration management tools especially Puppet and Ansible

  • Knowledge of scripting languages (Python, Perl, Powershell, bash/shell or JavaScript)

  • Experience in Software Engineering/Development and Object-Oriented Programming

  • Good understanding of high availability, multi-tier web infrastructure and architectures

  • Linux operating system experience

  • Strong team-oriented interpersonal skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Customer first mindset.

  • Interested in Data center/ Platform and application Monitoring solutions like Nagios, Dynatrace.

  • Highly motivated, energetic self-starter who excels in fast-paced dynamic, team environments and committed to getting results

NICE TO HAVE

  • Experience with database technologies

  • Strong understanding of distributed and enterprise web applications

  • Understanding of Micro-Service architectures
