User Assistance Developer (Technical Writer)
PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES
The SAP Globalization Services team localizes SAP products and Cloud services for use in different countries. The team has locations across the world, including Brazil, China, Germany, Hungary, India, Israel, and Russia.
We are seeking a User Assistance developer (technical writer) to join our software development unit in Bangalore. You will be responsible for developing user assistance content, in English, which is primarily used by consultants to implement the software. For this, you will work closely with our software developers and solution management experts. After you have gained experience, we will encourage you to take on more responsibility and branch out into other projects relating to user assistance.
As a UA developer you would be also expected to create vidoes, web content such as blogs and similar UA assets.
The position is on a permanent employment basis.
EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS
Planning, researching, and creating user assistance products which include documentation (such as context-sensitive help, user guides), videos and UA assets required by SAP’s customers.
Editing user interface texts to ensure usability and that the texts conform to SAP’s standards
Researching and defining terminology
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS/ SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
University degree, preferably in Technical Writing, IT, Business Studies or English
Ability to convey technical information in a clear and precise manner. Experience in developing technical videos will be an advantage.
Ability to work independently, and with strong communication skills
3-6 years’ experience in technical writing and in developing other user assistance products for the software industry.
