Job Title: IT Technology Consultant / IT Technology Senior Consultant /

Role : (Senior) Application Operations Engineer

PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES

The SAP is seeking Application Operations Engineer within our HCM Cloud Operations organization who can contribute significantly to our goal of achieving extreme operations efficiency and can solve operations problems in our large-scale distributed environments.

EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS

  • Monitor and Resolve all critical/High priority customer incidents for application queue in service now and represent the team in incident bridges

  • Drive and Run onboarding application projects as per the timelines

  • Address customer escalations and represent support team in discussions with customers.

  • Take up technical RCAs and provide required information to problem management for closing them

  • Take up validation of new datacenters and help to identify technical gaps prior to a DC go live

  • Liaise with L3’S and identify technical enhancements for the application and work towards implementing them

  • Provide on-call support to L1 and monitoring teams to assist them in achieving application support SLA’S

  • Represent application team in engagements with other stakeholders like engineering, cross-domain support teams, customer support and drive their requirements

  • Should be open to venture himself/herself into learning new products as per the business needs

  • Must be willing to work in shifts/weekends if business demands.

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS/ SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

BE/B.Tech/ME/M.Tech from recognized institutions with good academics.

WORK EXPERIENCE

The ideal candidate should have 5 to 7 years of experience in handling, supporting applications hosted on the following platforms or exposure to following technologies /domains

  • Expert Level knowledge of Microsoft Windows, SharePoint, and SQL Server Technologies.

  • Knowledge on Linux/Unix server Administration management

  • The candidate should have hands-on experience with IIS, Net, Clustering, Active Directory and Windows networking.

  • Exposure to Virtualization, Private and Public cloud hosting would be an advantage.

  • Knowledge of perimeter security, SSL, load Balancer, web and application security as well as Vulnerability remediation, Patch management is needed

  • Good with PowerShell or other scripting languages that can be leveraged for automation on Windows Exposure to Jenkins, or other orchestration tools and a willingness to automate manual administrative tasks

  • Certifications like MCP/ MCSE/ ITIL are desirable

  • Knowledge on HANA will be a Plus

  • Experience on Redis, Elastic Search, web servers (NGinx-Unicorn, Apache, Tomcat)

  • Should have experience in Java/RoR web applications

  • Good understanding of operational framework like ITIL/ITSM is a plus

  • Experience of working in 24x7 operations and should be a team player
