This Commercial Sales Executive Data & Database Management Analytics & Insights role is focused on the broad portfolio of SAP’s DDM and AI solutions, supporting the Dutch sales teams as a subject matter expert in business development and sales execution activities. These activities include:

  • Helping Dutch companies to grow faster, innovate and run simple.

  • Building strategic partnership with client/strategic partner & reseller

  • Positioning DDM & Analytics and Insights Portfolio at existing customer and prospects to articulate a Big data value proposition in context of the prospect’s business technical strategies and plans

  • Driving demand, creating pipeline and supporting customers with achieving their business goals with the adoption via initiatives such as SAP Cloud platform (SCP)

  • Generate, manage and handover leads and opportunities by developing and driving effective selling strategies that are based on valid, customer-specific value propositions;

  • Follow up on opportunities, negotiation (calculations of ROI), leading towards deal closing

  • Articulate our Modern Data Platform positioning, inclusive of HANA, Machine Learning, Advanced Analytics (e.g., Predictive, Spatial, NLP), etc. through facilitating whiteboard and architecture/landscape discussions

  • Articulate SAP’s competitive advantage to sales teams, customers and prospective customers

  • Represent the SAP solution set internally and externally in sales and DDM & Analytics and Insights activities


  • Act as key expert for SAP’s DDM & Analytics and Insights solutions whilst identifying, developing and executing targeted sales opportunities with prospective customers

  • Assist with go-to-market activities and key sales execution tasks

  • Assume a leadership role in devising solution strategies for targeted sales cycles at prospective customer accounts, including engaging partners in areas such as business development, solution development and solution cross-selling

  • Execute tactical sales plays tailored to specific target segments and accounts – with consideration to product lifecycle and customer roadmap

  • Act as trusted advisor for customers and as a role model for SAP’s values and best practices regarding DDM & Analytics and Insights.

  • Provide prospective customers with a roadmap from their current IT environment to SAP-based DDM & Analytics and Insights solutions.

  • Ability to communicate effectively and persuasively in simple terms when discussing and presenting DDM & Analytics and Insights


  • Professional experience with large, global software/IT organizations with demonstrated expertise in at least one solution segment through Solution Management, Sales, or Business Development roles

  • Working knowledge of cloud, hosted services, SaaS/ PaaS models, and cloud -based commerce/ business networks

  • Proven track record of success in the Database & Data Management and Analytics solution area

  • Extensive customer-facing experience


  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) required, MBA or equivalent degree from accredited university preferred

  • Fluency in Dutch and English

  • Ability to communicate Big Data in simple terms when writing and presenting

  • Ability to engage with SAP and customer executives confidently and professionally
