Job Title: Product Expert

Location: Palo Alto, CA

Purpose and Objective: SAP Labs, LLC seeks a Product Expert at our Palo Alto, CA location responsible for the success, quality, cost management and delivery of a product, product group or complex project in the whole product lifecycle as defined in the portfolio.

Expectations and Tasks: Contribute to the efficiency, effectiveness and improvement of processes used in own area. Monitor market tendencies and technology trends. Analyze technology trends and customer requirements to identify growth opportunities for SAP. Contributes to business case, develops and drives a product vision and a product roadmap. Constantly evaluate competitive products on basis of publicly available information to ensure his/her product is on-par or competitive in the current market. Customer roll-in. Conduct interviews, participate in customer events. Ensure product definition and ensure customer input into all product definitions. Own and prioritize product backlog which reflects customer and user needs in order to achieve competitive advantage and increases the value for the customer. Provide holistic overview on overall product backlog and ensures Product team and related Scrum teams have a comprehensive understanding of the product backlog. Ensure rollout plan. Have a long term view on the product. A near horizon and long term view is expected. Ensure product delivery and drive holistic product vision and product design and ensure all product teams have a comprehensive understanding of it. Develop test cases and/or conduct expert testing and validate planned and implemented scope throughout product lifecycle and ensure delivery of high quality software. Accept or reject sprint results on a Scrum of Scrum level. Ensure creation of product-related non-coded assets in close cooperation with central teams e.g. Release Management, Production, and Governance. Ensure the delivery of a product to implement the solution strategy. Collect and incorporate early feedback from Customers and other relevant stakeholders. Remain cognizant of usable software being available at the end of every sprint. Ensure both the internal stakeholders and external ecosystem is aware of the developments by working closely with stakeholders and customer groups. Think innovatively. Contribute to related communities. Identify opportunities and drive innovation in respective topics and domains of the functional role. Actively follow and share developments and trends regarding new SAP and complementary partner service and solution offerings, industry trends and other topic areas relevant for the respective domain. 10% travel required.

Education and Qualifications/Skills and Competencies: Position requires a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Accounting, Finance, or a related field and 7 years of experience; or alternatively, a Master's degree and 5 years of experience.

Work Experience: Experience must involve 5 years of product lifecycle work in the software industry; 5 years of experience in accounting and financial tools; Cloud solutions, SAP on premise products; development tools and methodologies such as Design Thinking; working with SCRUM team; and creation of support documentation and market material for customer roll-out and user groups. Experience must also involve legal tax requirements (federal and states) and researching and contacting regulatory organizations within the U.S. 10% travel required.
