PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES

As part of the SAP Consumer Industries family, you will join a cross-functional team contributing to our retail software portfolio. You will be working on one of our best-selling retail products leveraging SAP HANA, our in-memory database.

EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS

As an Associate Developer, you will be working in a cross functional scrum team and will be following agile software development principles.

Key tasks include:

  • The design, development, testing and quality of assigned product software features

  • You contribute to the quality of your team’s deliverables by conducting some or all of the following activities: manual testing, writing unit tests and writing test automation scripts

  • You actively learn new technologies and business processes, as prescribed by your unit objectives What we expect:

  • You independently leverage your education and work experience to quickly learn SAP-specific technologies and development methodologies

  • You are keenly aware of software engineering principles and best practices EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS Required skills

  • Bachelor or master degree in computer science, business informatics or a related discipline

  • No more than 2 years of work experience (as this is an entry level developer position for a new graduate)

  • Development experience in at least one programming language

  • Strong foundation in computer science with solid understanding and competencies in: system integration, SQL, database modeling, OData, HTML5, and software design in general

  • Proven ability to manage expectations and follow through on commitments

  • Strong English-language proficiency (verbal and written)

  • Local candidates preferred

  • The ideal candidate would be able to start by January 2018 Preferred skills

  • Agile development experience or education

  • Successful completion of an internship

  • Experience building a personal project demonstrating applied computer science knowledge (such as a video game, an online store, or any other project)

  • Any exposure to or experience within the consumer retail industry
