We are looking for a Data Scientist/Machine Learning/Analytics expert that will help our customers discover the information hidden in vast amounts of data, and show them how to make smarter decisions to support their needs. Your primary focus will be in applying data mining techniques, doing statistical analysis, and building high-quality prediction systems integrated with our products.

The Presales Solution Expert identifies, understands, and defines customer needs in order to develop and perform standard product demonstrations and materials to close business and increase revenue. Provides additional support to account executives and conducts demonstrations and POC’s for strategic purposes, including tradeshows and demand generation activities. The Presales Expert is considered one of the most knowledgeable Presales persons on a given solution in the Business unit they support.

Deal Execution / Demonstration Lead Tasks :

  • Responsible for highly complex/visible pre-sales support of company products/systems.

  • Provides advanced-level technical support to complex sales presentations and product demonstrations.

  • Provides answers to customer / internal SAP team inquiries concerning advanced solution topics.

  • Provides software development and consultation to prospective customers.

  • Supports regional and offshore Demo Architect teams to build demos based on customer requirements to demonstrate the feasibility of the application, often requiring rapid prototyping.

  • Will participate in demo system design, planning, and spec-out configuration requirements if needed.

  • Participate in enabling, training and mentoring of peers and junior team members.

Strategic Tasks:

  • Quickly establishes oneself as the thought leader of the VAT and provides input to fine-tune account strategy.

  • Guides team in creation of overall theme & competitive differentiation (value wedges)

  • Executes vigorous dry runs on strategic deals and customer engagements.

  • Effectively transitions engagement to implementation partner / Field Services

  • Is proactive in sharing their knowledge with the greater presales community through Solution Hubs or other enterprise social media where collaboration takes place.

  • Utilize CRM and other Presales BI reports to provide feedback to sales on the effectiveness of Presales in supporting their accounts.

  • Enforce consistent presales processes, including CRM-based opportunity management, dry-runs, and discovery sessions, to ensure superior demos and presentations.

  • Maintain high-level knowledge of SAP’s entire solution suite and key competitors.

  • Quality of sales support deliverables including RFIs, RFPs, and surveys

  • Effective knowledge transfer to colleagues

  • Activities performed and recorded to demonstrate the relationship with account team and peers

  • Breadth and depth of industry and business process knowledge

  • Effectiveness as a team player and mentor

Business Development Tasks:

  • Collaborate with the sales team to identify whitespace opportunities.

  • Be resourceful and creative in using Design Thinking processes to expand deals and create new opportunities in dormant accounts.

  • Work closely with marketing and partner teams to educate the market and participate in demand generation activities

  • Provide support to the partner team to enable new/existing partners when needed

Key Areas of Responsibility and Tasks:

Responsibilities:

  • Selecting features, building and optimizing classifiers using machine learning techniques

  • Data mining - using state-of-the-art methods

  • Extending the company’s data with third-party sources of information when needed

  • Enhancing data collection procedures to include information that is relevant for building analytic systems

  • Processing, cleansing, and verifying the integrity of data used for analysis

  • Doing ad-hoc analysis and presenting results in a clear manner

  • Creating automated anomaly detection systems and constant tracking of its performance

Experience & Language Requirements

  • 8 years of pre-sales/customer facing experience

  • 5 years of solution specialist (or equivalent customer facing) experience in areas appropriate to the job

  • Predictive, Python, R – related skills/experience

  • Expert knowledge/expertise on end to end processes/solution matching

  • Experience in sales and sales processes

  • Excellent presentation and communication skills English: proficient

  • Business level local language: expert

  • Excellent understanding of machine learning techniques and algorithms, such as k-NN, Naive Bayes, SVM, Decision Forests, etc.

  • Experience with common data science toolkits, such as R, Weka, NumPy, MatLab, etc. Excellence in at least one of these is highly desirable

  • Experience with data visualization tools, such as D3.js, GGplot, etc.

  • Proficiency in using query languages such as SQL, Hive, Pig

  • Experience with NoSQL databases, such as MongoDB, Cassandra, HBase

  • Good applied statistics skills, such as distributions, statistical testing, regression, etc.

  • Good scripting and programming – C , Java, Python, R, .

  • Data-oriented personality
