PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES

Founded in November 2012, the SAP Training and Development Institute (SAP TDI) strives to support in the creation of sustainable work possibilities by boosting the business system knowledge and entrepreneurial mindset of students, young graduates, and the experienced workforce in the region. By offering a host of programs tailored to bring SAP business skills to those who have a cultural and social understanding of a local region, the SAP TDI’s initiatives help talented minds not only to find jobs but also to establish their own companies by nurturing their entrepreneurial mindset. Furthermore, SAP TDI serves as Think Tank for knowledge exchange, co-creation and co-innovation. Operating in a fast-paced “start-up” environment, The SAP TDI requires employees with hands-on and multi-tasking mentality.

One of the TDI’s core strategic initiatives is to create a hub for innovation methodologies across the Middle East. Applying a training-/education-oriented approach, the Innovation Hub will localize global best practices, providing trainings around Design Thinking, Business Model Innovation and/or other innovation-related methodologies to a diverse target group. There is an explicit need in the MENA region to support the innovation agendas of the countries towards a knowledge-based economy.

EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS

The position holder will be responsible to execute on the innovation agenda of the SAP TDI across all relevant geographies in which the TDI operates – with focus on Middle East and North Africa. As individual contributor, the Senior Design Thinking & Innovation Program Specialist assumes responsibility to design, prepare, deliver and constantly evolve training offerings and innovation activities and to shape the tactical agenda of the TDI’s hub for Design Thinking and Innovation Methodologies.

Major responsibilities will include:

  • Design offerings around DT and Innovation Thought Leadership; deliver these trainings as Lead Coach and drive adoption across a highly-diverse target group (customers, partners, governments, students, individuals without any relation to SAP etc.)

  • Responsible for the end-to-end execution of the Innovation Hub, driving and overseeing all activities relating to successfully running the Innovation Hub. Activities are ranging from (but not limited to) program/training curriculum design, participant acquisition, training execution, alumni relations, awareness/marketing campaigns, operational activities (legal, financials, commercials) etc.

  • Work independently and in collaboration with various departments internally and externally to roll-out the offerings, expand the portfolio of offerings and to recommend/implement strategies to extend the Design Thinking and Innovation Methodologies to various alternative target groups.

  • Advocate Design Thinking and Innovation Methodologies under the umbrella of the SAP TDI

  • Steer Thought Leadership for Innovation Methodologies through activities/events, publications, blog posts etc.

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

  • MBA or comparable education

  • 7 years of professional experience, preferably in (Pre-)Sales, Training, Consulting or Innovation management.

  • Expert knowledge of Innovation Methodologies (Lean, Agile, Design Thinking etc.) as well as Business Model Innovation.

  • Certified as Design Thinking Coach with at least 5 years of experience. Highly experienced in both delivering DT sessions as well as designing a diverse set of Design Thinking curriculums.

  • Excellent workshop facilitation skills. Highly experienced in leading innovation workshops and as innovation coach.

  • Superior communication and presentation skills, ability to create clear and compelling lines of argument and to engage with various stakeholders, including senior management

  • Strong project management skills, detail oriented; must be highly organized with the ability to manage towards multiple deadlines simultaneously.

  • Proven track record of driving results and is self-motivated

  • Proficiency in written and spoken English. Arabic is a plus.

  • Knowledge of the MENA region is a plus.
